She provides short-term and long-term therapy for individuals and couples of various age ranges and economic levels, focusing on ways to help her clients achieve authentic empowerment. Lauren is an existentialist at heart and combines multiple therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reframing, Mindfulness and Attachment Theory – in tailoring treatments unique to each client. The populations she works with includes: LGBTQ individuals, couples, families, immigrants, and victims of torture, as well as people experiencing homelessness, divorce or separation, and unemployment. She has experience treating a variety of concerns including stress/anxiety, depression, relationship issues, LGBTQ concerns, job loss, suicide, domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma and PTSD.

Lauren’s goal is to provide compassion, stability, and crisis management in a non-judgmental and safe environment. She works to get to the heart of the matter – collaborating with her clients to develop logical and appropriate next steps, while providing immediate insight and relief. She has an extensive and diverse professional background that has given her rich experiences and knowledge that can be passed on to the clients she serves. She views therapy simply as problem solving – giving her clients different ways of looking at their situations in order to open up new avenues for forward motion and growth by creating new pathways in the brain.
Lauren believes we are never done growing and feels she learns as much from her clients as she hopes to teach them. She has a strong connection to “ikigai” – the Japanese word for purpose or reason for living. The word derives from iki – meaning life and kai – meaning the realization of hopes and expectations. It is the place where passion, mission, vocation, and profession intersect – encompassing joy, a sense of purpose and a feeling of well-being. Thereby, infusing each day with meaning.
